  6. This exciting new release includes all features of PCBoard v15.23 and
  7. adds new functionality to several key areas of PCBoard.  The upgrade
  8. will be available to all PCBoard sysops with current PCBoard Download
  9. Access.

  14.      +    A new PCBoard display macro has been added, to display the
  15.           assigned Internet address of the current node.
  16.           
  17.      +    Users can now choose to view single line file descriptions when
  18.           accessing the PCBoard file system.

  20.      +    When reading messages online, the system will beep when a
  21.           message addressed to the user is displayed.
  22.  
  23.      +    A new online sysop function has been added, allowing the sysop
  24.           to easily view the contents of a directory.

  26.      +    PCBSetup has been modified to include an on-screen display of
  27.           the PCB= environment variable overrides for Node and Comm
  28.           port settings, if they apply.

  30.      +    PCBSetup supports a new name search capability, allowing you to
  31.           jump directly to a conference by name rather than by number.

  33.      +    PCBSetup now includes a Global Search & Replace option, making
  34.           it easy for you to globally change drive assignments or
  35.           directory names all at once.

  37.      +    PCBoard verifies the existence of each file selected for
  38.           download as they are flagged for download.  If the files
  39.           reside on a hard disk or dedicated CD-ROM this verification
  40.           is very quick, but can result in excessive delays if the
  41.           files are stored on a CD-ROM changer.  A new file index
  42.           option allows PCBoard to flag the file for download without
  43.           verifying that it exists first.

  45.      +    Some networks support a quicker, but proprietary, method of
  46.           copying files from network drives to the local hard disk.
  47.           The slow-drive copy routine now supports an option to shell
  48.           out and run the specified program for copying files to the
  49.           local hard disk before downloading.

  51.      +    PCBoard will now automatically handle U/L and D/L byte totals
  52.           exceeding 4Gig.

  54.      +    Various other enhancements necessary for your PCBoard BBS to
  55.           co-exist with a MetaWorlds server.  The combination of
  56.           PCBoard v15.3, MetaWorlds and the PCBoard-MetaWorlds
  57.           Interface Kit will allow you to operate your PCBoard BBS and
  58.           your MetaWorlds system concurrently with both systems
  59.           sharing the PCBoard message bases and file areas.  This means
  60.           that you can install the new MetaWorlds system without taking
  61.           your PCBoard BBS offline.  Your users can then logon to either
  62.           system, making the transition to the new MetaWorlds system as
  63.           easy as possible.

  69.           more difficult for decompilers to recover your source code.

  76.           outbound messages addressed to the specified alias will be
  77.           sent to each email address found in the file.  This provides
  78.           an easy way for you to send the same email message to many

  82.      +    Prior versions of UUOUT automatically split file attachments
  83.           into 45K segments.  With this release, you can now override
  84.           this by specifying the maximum size yourself.
